Faculty Training

The ICPKP Faculty Training system shows the same commitment to systematic, progressive, educationally sound training, as required by NZQA for our Level 7 Diploma and that is also reflected in our teaching units.

All Candidates for Faculty Status must:
  • have completed all course content (training & practical work) prior to acceptance into the Faculty workshop.
  • have completed the SAJ, Online Tests, End-of-Series Tests & Case Studies. NO exceptions. This ensures you know that you really are committed and ready to help others learn and grow.
  • have taught several units from the BKP series before taking any Diploma FAC (D 1 – D 4).
  • be using the material from the Faculty workshops taken before embarking on a new one.

FAC 1

Faculty Accreditation Course (FAC) 1 is a 10 day workshop where you will learn how to plan your teaching program and get live teaching practice. This includes 2 minute presentations on the BKP muscles and 20 minute presentations on the techniques you will be teaching. You will get lots of positive feedback as you make the metamorphosis from student to teacher. You will also get to practice running the tests & exams on each other.

FAC 1 is regularly split into two 5 day workshops (FAC 1a and 1b) to make it easier to absorb the learning and manage students’ time around a busy schedule. You may do some (or all) of the theory by Zoom as participatory webinars to reduce travel time.

Graduates of FAC 1 are eligible to become ICPKP Faculty Members and teach the following courses and qualifications:

Content:
  • FAC 1A covers BKP 101 – 105, RBT 201, SPM 102 units. Exams: Practical, Oral, Written. (P.O.W.)
  • FAC 1B covers BKP 106 – 110, EMS 201, SPM 101 & 103 units. Exams: Practical, Oral, Written.

TT2

Prospective PKP Faculty who have come through the Touch For Health stream may choose to take the TT2 workshop instead of FAC 1, which is designed for those wanting to teach the TFH Crossover Course and bring students into the PKP Syllabus from there.
