ICPKP Standards

An appendix to all Faculty Agreements with background information on ICPKP standards, guidelines and requirements for Faculty.

1.0 Qualifications to teach

  • 1.1 All candidates for ICPKP Faculty status must:
    • 1.1.1 Have completed the ICPKP’s International Certificate in Professional Kinesiology Practice (Kinesiopractic® Level 1) and the Stress & Pain Management Certification to attend FAC1A and FAC1B.
    • 1.1.2 Have completed the ICPKP’s FPK2 Crossover Course for TFH Graduates, International Certificate in Professional Kinesiology Practice (Kinesiopractic® Level 1) and the Stress & Pain Management Certification to attend FAC TT2.
    • 1.1.3 Have completed or be in the process of completing one or more of the four Diplomas: Diploma of Learning, Metaphysical, Holographic and Vibrational Energies; Diploma of Energy Psychology; Diploma of Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation and Reintegration; Diploma of Dietary and Nutritional Science.
    • 1.1.4 Successfully complete the ICPKP’s Faculty Admission Course 1A to attain the status of ICPKP High Level Wellness & Vitality Instructor.
    • 1.1.5 Successfully complete the ICPKP’s Faculty Admission Course 1 (FAC 1A and FAC 1B) to attain the status of ICPKP Faculty Member.
    • 1.1.6 Successfully complete the ICPKP’s Faculty Admission Course TT2 to attain the status of ICPKP TT2 Instructor and ICPKP Faculty Member.
  • 1.2 ICPKP Faculty Members may go on to successfully complete additional Faculty Admission Courses to add further Courses and Qualifications to their teaching repertoire.
    • 1.2.1 ICPKP Faculty Members must successfully complete a given Course or Qualification before attending a Faculty Admission Course to teach that Course or Qualification.

2.0 What ICPKP Faculty May Teach

  • 2.1 All units referred to are listed in the ICPKP Syllabus Programme.
    • 2.1.1 After successful completion of Faculty Admission Course 1A graduates, called Instructors, can teach the following:

    • 2.1.3 In the past Faculty then complete Faculty Admission Course 2 & 3. From 2021 FAC 1 graduates now take four short, specialised, Diploma-related Faculty Admission Courses. These are a new repackaging of the FAC 2 and FAC 3 material. There is no extra material. The new presentation has been made to align with changing educational trends. These can be taken in any order:
      • FAC D1 – Diploma of Learning, Metaphysical, Holographic and Vibrational Energies.
        • MHP 301, MHP 302 (Meridian & Holographic Energies Certification)
        • PIB 201 – 203, PIB 301 – 302 (Learning Enhancement Certification; Behavioural Genetics Certification)

    • 2.1.5 After successful completion of Faculty Admission Course 3, graduates, called Kinesiopractic® Faculty, can teach an additional 12 units from the International Diploma of Kinesiopractic®, 11 units from the International Graduate Diploma of Kinesiopractic®, all 10x Continuing Education Certificates and 3 extra Continuing Education Diplomas & all 19x K-Power® workshops.

      3. NB: OCT 302 is only taught by specialist ‘Red Flags’ Faculty.

3.0 Affiliated Colleges & Teaching Centres

  • 3.1 All Faculty members must teach under the auspices of an ICPKP Affiliated College or Teaching Centre.

4.0 Restrictions and exceptions

  • 4.1 In some countries, a status called RTO is required and some courses have limitations on who may teach them. eg. ‘RBT 201’. Observe these restrictions.
  • 4.2 A&P1 is an exception in that students may enroll for it before commencing the basic BKP 101 course.
    • 4.2.1 The unit CBP is restricted to those students who have completed A&P1.
  • 4.3 Teaching OCT 302 is restricted and is only taught by designated, approved ‘Red Flags’ Faculty.
  • 4.4 Units for which there is no ICPKP Courseware (teaching notes and assessment journals) are considered to be externally taught units for which special licensing requirements may vary from country to country. eg. OCT 202 First Aid
  • 4.5 No Faculty member shall make a translation of any ICPKP courseware or other materials, nor allow any other person to make a translation, without an official ICPKP Translation Contract.

5.0 Course Content

  • 5.1 ICPKP acknowledges that persons who are ICPKP Faculty may also teach other kinesiology and non-kinesiology workshops with different content and philosophical perspective.
  • 5.2 By signing the Faculty Agreement, ICPKP Faculty agree not to delete (nor omit to teach) content from any ICPKP unit without ICPKP’s written permission.
  • 5.3 By signing the Faculty Agreement, ICPKP Faculty are agreeing not to add content to any ICPKP unit without ICPKP’s written permission.
  • 5.4 By signing the Faculty Agreement, ICPKP Faculty are agreeing they will not teach or include ICPKP teaching, assessment or exam material in any other kinesiology or non-kinesiology workshop, seminar or course without ICPKP’s written permission.
  • 5.5 By signing the Faculty Agreement, ICPKP Faculty are agreeing they will not distribute, share, or make available ICPKP teaching notes, assessment material or exam questions in any other kinesiology or non-kinesiology workshop, seminar or course without ICPKP’s written permission.
  • 5.6 The Faculty member understands and agrees that the international copyright © laws cover all ICPKP written materials, material on the ICPKP website and any material which they (or an Institute, College or Teaching Centre for which they may teach) have downloaded or may from time to time download or otherwise obtain from that website.
  • 5.7 The Faculty member understands and agrees that the international copyright © laws cover all ICPKP material that is supplied to them on audio tape, video tape, CD, CD-ROM, DVD, USB stick, iPad, iPhone or any other electronic, magnetic or multi-media format whatsoever.
  • 5.8 The Faculty member understands and agrees that they may not make derivative works of any kind from ICPKP materials including a translation, musical arrangement, dramatization, fictionalization, motion picture version, sound recording, art reproduction, abridgment, condensation, or any other form in which a work may be recast, transformed, or adapted and may not up-load to YouTube (or similar sites) any clips or video that incorporates ICPKP teaching, courseware or materials without ICPKP’s written permission.
  • 5.9 The Faculty member understands and agrees that any dispute will be examined under NZ Law and not the laws of their (or any other) nation.
  • 5.10 The Faculty member understands and agrees that they may not teach any student or group of students, long-distance using Skype, FaceTime or any other similar electronic methods without ICPKP’s written permission.

6.0 National, State or County Laws

  • 6.1 ICPKP acknowledges that Faculty are bound by the laws of their nation (and, in some countries or situations, state and county laws as well) which may restrict (or in some other way modify) the content of a unit. The Faculty member understands and agrees that they must advise the ICPKP Registrar of any such situation and involve ICPKP in the finding of a suitable solution, the implementation of which requires ICPKP’s written permission.
  • 6.2 By signing the Faculty Agreement, ICPKP Faculty are agreeing that wherever there appears to be a conflict between ICPKP teachings or course content and local law, they will immediately advise the College or Teaching Centre and work with that College or Teaching Centre and the local authority to obtain a resolution.
  • 6.3 Should the Faculty member’s country, state or county require any additional certification for teaching adults (such as a Certificate in Adult Education and Teaching or a TAE40116 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment) the Faculty member agrees that it is their responsibility to obtain such qualification at their own expense prior to offering to teach any ICPKP unit.

7.0 Professional Membership

  • 7.1 The Faculty member agrees to maintain financial membership of their local country kinesiology organisation or association and in countries where such an organisation does not exist to become a financial member of a similar professional organisation.
  • 7.2 The Faculty member agrees to list their professional membership on their ICPKP ‘web page’.
  • 7.3 The Faculty member agrees to maintain an ICPKP Annual Teaching Certificate through completing at least the ICPKP’s continuing education units (CEUs) available on the ICPKP website as required from time to time.

8.0 Codes of Ethics, Conduct and Practice

  • 8.1 The Faculty member agrees to abide by the Code of Ethics of their local country kinesiology/professional organisation.
  • 8.2 The Faculty member agrees to abide by the Code of Conduct of their local country kinesiology/professional organisation.
  • 8.3 The Faculty member agrees to abide by the Code of Practice of their local country kinesiology/professional organisation.
  • 8.4 Where there is no existing Code of Ethics, Conduct or Practice in the local country kinesiology/professional organisation the Faculty member agrees to abide by the Codes of the ICPKP.
  • 8.5 Should the Faculty member become the subject of a complaint, the member agrees to advise the ICPKP of the fact and the circumstance pertaining to the issue.

9.0 The Name and reputation of ICPKP

  • 9.1 The Faculty member agrees that the public in general and students in particular may have a tendency to rightly or wrongly judge the ICPKP by the persons who teach the ICPKP’s units.
  • 9.2 The Faculty member agrees to support the name and reputation of the ICPKP by their word, deportment, behaviour and general demeanor at all times.
  • 9.3 The Faculty member agrees to be an advocate in both kinesiology and other natural therapy circles for the ICPKP’s International Graduate Diploma of Kinesiopractic®.

10.0 Private Providers

  • 10.1 The ICPKP and the Faculty member acknowledge that persons who teach ICPKP units are private providers of an ICPKP Affiliated College and are NOT in the employ of the ICPKP.
  • 10.2 The Faculty member understands and agrees that they are not entitled to any medical benefits, holiday pay, superannuation, insurance or any other similar or related benefits from ICPKP or its officers or representatives.
  • 10.3 The Faculty member understands and agrees that they and/or the local college for whom they are teaching are responsible for obtaining and confirming public liability insurance in regard to any building, accessway or site where they teach, hold seminars, tutorials or retreats where ICPKP materials are used or discussed.
  • 10.4 The Faculty member understands and agrees that they and/or the local college for whom they are teaching are responsible for obtaining suitable malpractice insurance.
  • 10.5 The Faculty member understands and agrees that they and their College or Teaching Centre, and not the ICPKP, are responsible for student safety in their classes.
  • 10.6 The Faculty member understands and agrees that they may not make any media quotes, policy statements, guarantees, offers or similar things on behalf of ICPKP without the written permission of the Registrar.
  • 10.7 The Faculty member understands and agrees that they may not make any contractual arrangement, advertisement or legal undertaking of any kind on behalf of the ICPKP or its employees.

11.0 Prior Learning (RPL)

  • 11.1 The Faculty member understands and agrees that it is the policy of the ICPKP to recognise prior learning.
  • 11.2 Persons who have completed TFH 4 and realise that they want to be a PKP™ practitioner may be admitted to BKP 106 upon completion of the FPK 2 crossover module.
  • 11.3 Where a TFH 4 graduate approaches ICPKP direct about RPL, they will be referred to the nearest ICPKP accredited College or Teaching Centre offering BKP 101 – 110 and FPK2 the crossover module.
  • 11.4 The Faculty member understands and agrees that they may be required, from time to time, for a fee, to assess students applying for RPL who are unable to produce a certificate of proficiency from an institution of similar to or greater academic standards than ICPKP.

12.0 Marking and recording

  • 12.1 The Faculty member understands and agrees that they will mark student assessment journals promptly and with integrity and impartiality.
  • 12.2 The Faculty member understands and agrees that they will record student progress on the ICPKP website before handing the assessment journal back so that the student can complete the ICPKP assessment for the unit on the website.
  • 12.3 The assessment journal of each ICPKP unit must be marked by the Faculty member and signed off as completed for the student when the work is of a competent standard.

13.0 Moderation

13.1 The Faculty member understands and agrees that ICPKP moderates (evaluates), through a designated person all colleges and faculty offering the ICPKP’s programmes on an annual, bi-annual or needs-be basis.
13.2 Moderation covers both teaching and assessment standards to ensure equal and impartial assessment of students in written, oral and practical work.

14.0 Teaching Standards and Values

  • 14.1 The Faculty member understands and agrees to create a teaching environment that sets clear ICPKP values and standards.
    • 14.1.1 ICPKP does not discriminate between people on the basis of nationality, race, religion, gender, belief, age or social status.
    • 14.1.2 ICPKP maintains an attitude of respect for the dignity of all people.
    • 14.1.3 ICPKP Faculty will not speak disparagingly of any student, fellow Faculty or other kinesiology or health discipline.
  • 14.2 ICPKP Faculty will make their prospective students aware that approximately half of the learning time is teacher-directed and the remainder is self and peer-directed.
  • 14.3 ICPKP Faculty will encourage exploration and discussion as part of the learning process and will facilitate resolution of questions from the self and student-directed learning process.

15.0 Confidentiality and Restraint

  • 15.1 The Faculty Member acknowledges and agrees that since they have obtained and are likely to obtain during the engagement to perform their agreed role with ICPKP certain confidential information of ICPKP including, but not limited to, information regarding course participants/students and clients of ICPKP, the Faculty Member will be bound by the following restrictions.
    • 15.1.1 Not to disclose any information concerning ICPKP’s business, finances, transactions or affairs which may come to its knowledge during the Engagement.
    • 15.1.2 To keep with complete secrecy all confidential information entrusted to them and not to use any such information in any manner which may injure or cause loss either directly or indirectly to ICPKP or its business or may be likely to do so. The restriction shall continue to apply after the termination of this agreement, without limitation but shall cease to apply to information which may come into the public domain other than by breach of this agreement.
    • 15.1.3 Not to make, otherwise than for the benefit of ICPKP, any notes or memoranda relating to any matter within the scope of the business of ICPKP or concerning any of its dealings or affairs. The Faculty Member during this agreement or afterwards shall not use or permit to be used any such notes or memoranda other than that for the benefit of ICPKP.
    • 15.1.4 The Faculty Member will not without the consent of ICPKP, at any time (whether during this agreement or after the termination date) infringe the ICPKP’s right to any confidential information or data, systems, techniques or processes developed by the ICPKP or the Faculty Member whilst acting on behalf of the ICPKP or one of its Colleges or Teaching Centres.
    • 15.1.5 The Faculty Member will not, for a period of twelve (12) months commencing from the date of termination, directly or indirectly solicit the custom of any person, firm or company who at any time during the two (2) years immediately preceding termination of this agreement, was a course participant/student and/or client of the ICPKP and/or referred to the Faculty Member by the ICPKP, other than any persons that where existing clients of the Faculty Member prior to the initial engagement.
    • 15.1.6 The Faculty Member shall make available for inspection by the ICPKP all books and records of professional attendances of course participants/students and/or clients which arise after the termination of this agreement upon ICPKP giving notice of reasonable concern that the terms of any clause 15.1.1-6 may have been breached by the Faculty Member.

16.0 Annual Renewal of Faculty Agreement

  • 16.1 The Faculty member accepts the need to re-sign the ICPKP Faculty Agreement annually.
  • 16.2 ICPKP agrees that it may not refuse to re-appoint the Faculty member without good reason.
  • 16.3 The Faculty member understands that renewal of their Faculty Agreement is dependent on a significant proportion of their students achieving competency in ICPKP assessments.
  • 16.4 The Faculty member understands that they may be required to re-certify (in an ICPKP Faculty Admission Course) should they refrain from teaching ICPKP units for a two year period.
  • 16.5 All persons who want to teach any or all of the ICPKP’s Courses, (Units, Certificates and Diplomas) are required to sign the ICPKP Faculty Agreement. For K-Power® workshops, all instructors must complete the online instructor application form at www.k-power.co.
