This unit covers the introductory skills and knowledge required to work effectively in a healthcare setting with patients, clients, staff, visitors, suppliers and others to meet established work requirements. Work will be within a prescribed range of functions involving known routines and procedures with some accountability for the quality of outcomes. In addition this unit describes the skills required to arrange referrals to other health care professionals when required.
