BKP End-of-Series test
A. The College mark for this piece of courseware is based on several performance criteria.
The College mark for this piece of courseware is for a full balance by the student completing the BKP series on either their teacher or another experienced Kinesiologist, and utilising the BKP109 balancing protocol. This is an “open-book” balance.
- Colleges will mostly use an external examiner for End of Series exams.
The student will be required to:
- Do a 30 minute oral on the material
- This will be a series of short answer questions
- The student will only be asked questions relating to the material from the wedge of information being examined.
- Do a 60 minute balance using all finger modes taught to date on an experienced ‘client’
- The student will utilize the full balancing protocol
- The goal selected (supplied) will require pretests from the material being examined
- this is an open book balance
- May be required to do a 30 minute practical demonstration of techniques on an experienced ‘client’.
- NB: This is only required if the finger mode balance (in 2A) showed no practical demonstrations or no age recessions.
- The topics will be supplied by the examiner
- The topics will only relate to the material from the wedge of information being examined.
- The student may have a book available but should only require the briefest of glances at an aspect of the material.
- It is not acceptable to use the book for every step of the techniques as this does not indicate competency.
- Professional Standards. The examiner will notice the following:
- Familiarity with the reference materials relating to the ‘wedge’.
- Has relevant tools available to use
- Appropriate dress and appropriate language
- sensitivity to ethnic, cultural and gender issues
- The student keeps the client informed, involved and helps them make connections.
- Accepts the client’s conclusions. Does not impose their stuff on the client.
- Overall manner and touch is professional.
- Has all 10 BKP Assessment Journals in on time and marked.
- The examiner will decide if this work is competent.
- Has completed the 10 BKP on-line webtests.
- Show the examiner two marked Case Studies where a client has been seen two or three times.
- The client chosen will be one where material from this wedge was a significant factor in their management.
- The student will use the Case Study protocol from BKP 110.
- The student will have used the ICPKP Balancing Protocol and have the balancing record sheets attached to the Case Study.
- Familiarity with the reference materials relating to the ‘wedge’.
B. The on-line test consists of multi-choice questions.
The on-line test consists of 100 multi-choice questions, randomly selected from the question pool of BKP101 – BKP110. As the test will take more than one hour to complete, it can be attempted in several sittings. After both pieces of assessment are complete, students will be issued with their Certificates of Proficiency in Basic Kinesiology Practice.
- The student can only do the on-line test for the series after the College has posted a mark on the web.
- Questions are randomly selected from the question pool of all units in the wedge.
- As the test will take more than 30 mins to complete, it can be attempted in several sittings.
After all pieces of the End of Series assessments are complete, the student will be issued with their Certificate of Proficiency for this portion of the ICPKP International Diploma in Kinesiology.
